Wick.ed Aromas was founded in 2023 by Mahlon Gatneau and Shannon Ryan, partners who started making candles with a $40 Amazon kit and a lot of curiosity.

What began as something small in a garage in Syracuse, New York has grown into a fragrance brand shaped by where we come from, what we’ve experienced, and the things that stay with us.

Wick.ed is New York born. It’s been built here, in Central New York, through the people we’ve met, the places we’ve lived, the work we’ve put in, and the community that’s supported us along the way.

For Mahlon, Saint Lucia is an important part of that story. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Saint Lucia before eventually returning to New York, he carries those different places with him. The colors, landscapes, memories, sounds, ingredients, and sense of place continue to influence the way he thinks about fragrance and the stories it can tell.

Shannon brings her own perspective to Wick.ed, balancing the creative side of the brand with the structure and thoughtfulness needed to keep it moving forward. Together, we’ve built something that continues to change as we do.
